The 137th annual Rose Parade proved even rain wasn’t going to stop the show, which included a large Kermit the Frog and fireworks.

Marching bands, floats and thousands of spectators are bracing for a rare dose of New Year’s Day rain for the prestigious Rose Parade in Southern California.

This is the seventh time a self-built float has been honored with the Sweepstakes Trophy and the first time for Cal Poly Universities.

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Tennessee high school marching band had the opportunity to march in the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day. This New Year marked the 99th time NBC has broadcasted the Rose Parade. The Franklin High School Band was featured in that broadcast as they marched the parade in Pasadena, California.

The Golden State may be hard-pressed to see much sunshine until the middle of next week as a parade of storms brings rounds of rain to San Francisco and feet of snow to the Sierra.
