MIAMI — Tropical Storms Karina and Lowell formed Thursday in the Pacific Ocean, both of which were expected to become hurricanes in the next few days, the National Hurricane Center said.

Tropical Storm Dolly became the fourth-named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season Aug. 27.

Dolly formed over the Main Development Region in the Tropical Atlantic, packing sustained winds of 40 mph, and is drifting towards the Leeward Islands.
