AMC Theatres will bring back 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas,' and 'Steel Magnolias' to honor Dolly Parton.

In honor of country music icon Dolly Parton, AMC Theatres will screen "Steel Magnolias" and "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" beginning Aug. 28.

New Yorkers are trying to save the AMC Kips Bay movie theater in Manhattan as the company says it plans to close by the end of this year.

The exec is in his tenth year of running the exhibitor, which is hoping to capitalize on box office momentum this summer.

The AMC Kips Bay 15 on Second Avenue has been open since 1999 but will shut down at the end of 2026, according to a spokesperson.

AMC Theatres will honor the late country star Dolly Parton with a limited re-release of two of her most famous films.

Smaller theaters have less leverage over rates, holds, and repertory titles than their counterparts at AMC, Regal, and Cinemark.
