Since its creation in 1961, DIA has been the Nation's premier all-source military intelligence organization. Our team at DIA deploys globally, alongside warfighters and interagency partners, to defend America's national security interests.
At DIA, we provide military intelligence to warfighters, defense policymakers and force planners in the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community, in support of U.S. military planning and operations and weapon systems acquisition.
In the open session, Lt. Gen. Kruse also answered the Subcommittee’s questions on various topics including managing open-source intelligence, integrating emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, and how DIA balances its focus on China while maintaining global overwatch for other threats.
Most of our work is performed at DIA Headquarters, located along the Potomac River at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C. However, we also deploy globally to support the warfighter during combat missions.
Whatever your field, DIA has opportunities around the world that will challenge you while making substantial contributions to protecting our national security. DIA has positions in collection, analysis, information systems, operational support and more.
The director of DIA is a three-star officer appointed by the president and approved by the Senate. The directorship has been held by officers in the Air Force, Army, Marine Corps and Navy.
